STREETCHOIRS FESTIVAL in KENDAL
Saturday 24th June 2017
The annual gathering of community choirs from all over the UK, which this year was in a beautiful Lake District setting.
As usual, there was a Mass Sing of all the choirs together. Well nigh 1000 people singing songs we’d learnt earlier (an hour earlier, actually!).

Then each choir sang outdoors at carefully chosen locations around the town. Here we are outside the Arts Centre, really enjoying ourselves!
Then on the Saturday night, each of the 40 choirs sang a short set of songs on stage at the Kendal Leisure Centre. You can see and hear us singing “You’re The Voice” in the concert on our home page and you can read Sue Nathan’s handcrafted illustrated blog about the fantastic weekend here

Global Re-Grooves (Chorlton Arts Festival)
Thursday 25 May 2017
For the second year in a row, we rocked the Chorlton Irish Club lounge bar, sharing the bill with well known klezmer band Hard Times Kapelye, giving us their toe-tapping Balkan tunes, and the acclaimed Manchester SHE Choir, singing hits new and not so new, arranged by themselves. We rounded off the show by singing many of our favourites, and Liz continued what has become a tradition for us at CAF – she taught the audience a song and they joined in with gusto!
Dig that spooky lighting, man, which just added to the nightclub atmosphere!
However, the night was tinged with sadness, coming so soon after the Arena bomb. We observed a minute’s silence at the beginning of our set, and collected £246 from audience members to give to the Manchester Emergency Fund.
William West’s blog here is aptly titled “Singing Because We Must”.
