Library Service Open Day Saturday 7th December 2013
As the Library Service get ready for their return to the newly refurbished Central Reference Library, we were invited to sing our festive songs in the newly renovated Rates Hall on the ground floor of the Town Hall extension building. As well as songs from our festive repertoire we sang Hayo O Tshwanang Le Yena in honour of Nelson Mandela, and invited the audience to join in.
Some comments from our members afterwards:
“It was really moving singing in honour of Nelson Mandela. We got some strange looks later when we continued singing in the Xmas Market”
“A lovely afternoon Liz. An emotional tribute to Mandela and a great joint sing with the audience.”
And from Angela and the team at Archives+
“I would like to say a massive thank you for you and all the choir members
who came along to the Rates Hall on Saturday and definitely made the event
such a success. There was a wonderful atmosphere that day and the
performance was really great. The Nelson Mandela song was particularly
special and it was a privilege to have you all perform. I hope you are keen
to visit us when we move in to Central Library.”

We went to Aberystwyth this year on our annual weekend away for the National Street Choir Festival. Cor Gobaith were our hosts, and it was a wonderful event. The sun shone, we sang at various points on the promenade and in the castle ruins. And the Arts Centre was the perfect spot to watch the sun setting over Cardigan Bay!
