A group of us went to Bristol for the weekend at the invitation of the Gasworks Singers. We stayed with them and sang with them. What a worthwhile collaboration it was!
We helped to raise £1,142.33 for Médicins Sans Frontières by busking inside the Bristol Museum and Art Gallery and performing at an evening concert together with the Gasworks Singers and our MDs Liz Powers and Dee Jarlett.
Margaret and Julie, who organised this journey from Manchester, send a huge thank you to Dee and Liz; to the Gasworks Singers for their generous hospitality; and to all the travelling members of Manchester Community Choir. What a delightful time we all had, just room for a few comments here:
“Such a great opportunity to get to know other members of the choir + learn their names!”
“Lovely, lovely weekend. Enjoyed meeting the Gasworks Singers. Enjoyed staying with a choir member. Brilliant hospitality.”
“Really enjoyed the concert and listening to the beautiful songs. Dee is very inspiring.”
“Loved the version of ‘Walls’ the Gasworks Singers did. Looking forward to their visit to Manchester. ”
“Thanks to Liz for making the journey to lead us.”
“Absolutely fabulous weekend, fantastic organisation and soulful singing.”
