Last Sunday I was ‘in at the deep end’ in the Victoria Baths singing in the Manchester Community Choir.
It is one of the most beautiful settings I have sung in and there is something extra special about singing from the bottom of – for now – a dry pool.
We sounded good – OK I am biased but our choir director Liz Powers gets the best out of us, definitely greater than the sum of our parts – tenors, bases, sopranos and altos! And we had an enthusiastic and larger than usual audience with a 3 year old Nyla to sing happy birthday to and a toddler who just had to dance as we sung.
We are a community choir and thrive on our local links – come and listen to us, better still come and join us.
