Who are we?

We are a diverse group of singers from across Manchester who love singing and enjoy performing our songs to a wide range of audiences. We sing unaccompanied (acapella) and we aim to have fun while we practise and perform.

Our repertoire includes a rich and varied mix of modern and traditional songs, reflecting our values of respect for the world and its peoples, and a belief in freedom, fairness and peace.

We welcome everyone and we don’t audition. Whether you have sung in a choir before or have only sung in the privacy of your own home you will find a home with Manchester Community Choir. We understand how daunting it can be to join a new group or to take up a new hobby.. Learning by ear, listening to other singers and having the excellent support of our experienced musical director will help you to grow in confidence as part of our group.

Come and Join us 

Do you enjoy singing just for the joy of it?

On your own in the kitchen or the car?  Or in a singalong with others?

Whether you have never sung before or you are an experienced singer you will be welcome. Beginner singers will find a friendly welcoming group who will help you to find your voice and grow in confidence. More experienced singers will have fun singing with like-minded people and learning through excellent teaching from our Musical Director.

We have three rehearsals a month, on a Sunday afternoon, and two Monday evenings – singing live at Didsbury Baptist Church (with a linked Zoom session online for singers unable to join in person).
